Bob joined Heritage Wealth Management Group in 2015 capping a 30 year career in the investment industry. He began his journey with Ferris & Company in Washington, DC in 1986, where he became the first broker promoted to Vice President in the firm’s history. He went on to spend the next 14 years at Merrill Lynch where he was a member of the Chairman’s Club and the President’s Club. Following Merrill Lynch, Bob spent the next 12 years at two other firms before making the transition to the Advisory arena with HWMG. Prior to his investment career, Bob was a recruiter for professional search firms.
He earned his MA from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree from Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. Bob is very proud of his Army Reserve career as an Officer in the Special Forces and his recall to active duty for service in Panama and Desert Storm.
He and his wife, Gail, recently relocated to Amelia Island, Florida from Fairfax, Virginia where they raised their two now grown children. Bob is a former president of the Optimist Club of Fairfax, Virginia and has been active in the Kiwanis Club. In his leisure time, he is an avid golfer, NYT Best Seller reader, and Oscar nominee movie goer.
